Unwind in a Park in Windsor

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of meeting your travel schedule, sometimes what the active visitor needs is some quiet and solitude, surrounded by natural beauty.

A simple stroll through one of many parks in the Windsor area will restore some serenity to your soul.

Most of the parks located in the town are quite active and feature ballfields, barbecue pits, picnic tables, play equipment, and horseshoes. Esposti and Keiser are such parks, both located in the town of Windsor.

For a more rigorous adventure, travelers might have to venture outside the town of Windsor into some of the surrounding countryside in the wine region.

Shiloh Ranch Regional Park is located a bit east of Windsor and is more of a large nature park than your typical neighborhood park. At a size of 845 acres, it’s no wonder this is a favorite spot amongst local hikers. Shiloh Ranch is located at 5750 Faught Road in Santa Rosa.

Another park of the same caliber is Foothill Regional Park. Foothill is much like Shiloh Ranch offering the same amenities, which aren’t many, but is also considerably smaller at just 211 acres. The solid oaks, green grasslands and dusty trails that snake through the park make up for the lack of neighborhood park frills. Foothill is located at 1351 Arata Lane in Windsor. Both parks can be reached from Highway 101. For more information check out the City of Windsor’s website. | www.ci.windsor.ca.us
