Sonoma County Harvest Fair is a three day celebration of Sonoma County’s agricultural harvest – from apples to zucchini – and, of course, including grapes and wine. The 2013 Harvest Fair is Friday through Sunday, October 2-4, 2015.
Included in the Fair’s competitions is the largest regional wine competition with three days of blind tastings by nationally recognized judges. All wines entered are made with Sonoma County grapes. Awards are announced the weekend prior to Harvest Fair at the Awards Night Gala, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Wine Pavilion.
The three-day fair offers wine tasting daily plus continuous live jazz, chefs demonstrations, grape stomps, an art show, and apple show, wine seminars, pumpkin carving, a barnyard scramble for kids, and much more.
Admission to the fair is $5 or FREE w/ 4 non-perishable food items for the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Grand Tasting Tickets: $55 (Pre-Sale Discount: 2 for $100); 3-Day Pass: $125.00 each (Designated Driver Tickets: $25).
Wine tasting is organized by varietal. Tastings are offered in two flights, Noon to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Each session’s ticket price covers fair admission and tasting admission, tasting glass, and unlimited wine tasting. The earlier session will feature wine education and tasting notes from local sommeliers.
Wine tasting is organized by winery on Saturday and Sunday, so that tasters will have the opportunity to talk with winery personnel. Tasting hours are from Noon to 5 p.m. Wine tasting admission includes a tasting glass and four taste tickets.
