Wine Road – Northern Sonoma County
100+ Wineries!

BARREL TASTING – TWO WEEKENDS…..
March 2-4 & March 9-11, 2018
11:00 am – 4:00 pm each day

Members of the Wine Road would like to welcome you to our wineries and lodgings for an exciting weekend of wine tasting. This is your chance to sample wines from the barrel, talk to winemakers and explore the beautiful Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys.

Barrel Tasting is not a food pairing or themed event.  It’s all about the WINE…many wineries offer “futures” on their barrel samples. This is a chance to purchase wine now, often at a discount, then come back to the winery when the wine is bottled, typically 12-18 months from now. Many wines are so limited, buying futures is your only chance to purchase them.

Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic as most wineries will not have food for this event. The ticket price includes the opportunity to sample wine from the barrel and in most cases also trying a limited number of current release wines.

Winemaker Breakfast and Q & A on Saturday March 3rd and Saturday March 10th. Tickets must be purchased for this added event during registration. This is an open forum for guests to meet and chat with winemakers in a casual breakfast setting with Q & A. This is not a wine tasting experience, simply breakfast and conversation. Tickets are $25 plus tax and fees.

March 3rd Breakfast:  Will be held at Pedroncelli Winery: 1220 Canyon Rd, Geyserville.  Join Winemakers Montse Reece (Pedroncelli), John Viszlay (Viszlay Vineyards) and Dan Barwick (Paradise Ridge Winery) for a casual morning of Q & A along with a breakfast before heading out to Barrel Tasting.

March 10th Breakfast: Will be held at Spicy Vines: 441 Healdsburg Ave, Healdsburg.   Join Winemakers Doug Hackett (Spicy Vines), Susie Selby (Selby Winery) and Mike Brunson (Christopher Creek Winery) for a casual morning of Q & A along with a breakfast before heading out to Barrel Tasting.

All Wine Road events are for adults only… NO ONE under the age of 21 is allowed to attend Barrel Tasting -including no babies or children of any age

Stephen Stills & Judy Collins @ Luther Burbank Center for the Arts
Jun 1 @ 7:00 pm

50 years ago, singer-songwriter Stephen Stills met singer-songwriter Judy Collins, known for her piercing ocean blue eyes. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. Both artists would go gone to shape modern music with visionary approaches, but Stills and Collins’ short fiery union remains a trans-formative era for the two artists.

Now, the two icons of folk will celebrate the golden anniversary of their formative time together. Their joint tour marks the first time ever Stills and Collins have been onstage together. For this once in a lifetime experience, the two music legends will pull from their rich catalogs, debut songs from their album (out September 2017), and share warm and intimate stories from their journeys and the 1960’s folk and Laurel Canyon scenes they helped build.

Stills and Collins met in 1967 and dated for two years. Stills wrote and demoed his legendary love song to Collins right after he left Buffalo Springfield, before he joined CSN. “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” is a five-section romantic epic brimming with heartfelt sincerity. The song has been ranked #418 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time Poll. Stills is known for his work with Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and his solo work. In addition to “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” Still is best known for the hits “ For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield and “Love The One You’re With” from his solo debut, Stephen Stills. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and ranked #28 in Rolling Stone Magazine’s “The 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.” He also has the added distinction of being the first artist to be inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame twice in one night (for his work with CSN and Buffalo Springfield). Collins is known for her eclectic palette as a solo artist, melding folk, rock, classical, and jazz into a singular aesthetic. She’s earned five Grammy nominations including one in 2017 and one Grammy win. Outside of music, Collins has published two memoirs, one novel, and, in 1975, was nominated for an Academy Award for the documentary Antonia: A Portrait of the Woman. Collins is also a lifelong activist.
