Welfare League Shop

The Welfare League Thrift Shop is celebrating 70 years of service to the community. Located in a 1916 historic building, the Welfare League sells collectibles, books, antiques and clothing at reasonable prices.

Proceeds from the sales fund scholarships, back to school shopping, Christmas Unlimited, car seats, bike helmets and more. A totally volunteer non-profit organization, the Welfare League’s mission is service to children and the needy of all ages. Donations are always gratefully accepted.

We operate a thrift shop in Historic Railroad Square. We are proud to operate with volunteers. Members sort, clean, price, and sell donations.

Petite Syrah is Chef Silvers’ reinvention of Syrah Bistro. After 12 years, Chef/Owner Josh Silvers decided it was time for a change and closed Syrah. He remodeled the space and reinvented the menu. The new and improved Petite Syrah opened in May of 2011, and like her predecessor, has received rave reviews. The San Francisco Chronicle review by Michael Bauer gives Petite Syrah three stars and praises the “kitchen’s skill and execution are flawless … Every dish is beautifully presented and well thought out…Even the simplest of dishes can be memorable.” The Press Democrat review by Jeff Cox also reports “Change is good …Chef Silvers recently shuttered his very successful restaurant Syrah, which had been a culinary star in Sonoma County for years and tossed out old ideas and reinvented the the décor and came up with a whole new gastronomic concept…and it’s even better…the emphasis is on locally grown, organic and fresh, in season foods.
