Every 4th of July the town of Quincy, CA welcomes thousands of visitors for the four-day, family-friendly High Sierra Music Festival. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2016, the eclectic festival boasts an impressive line-up of national and international superstars in the jamband, bluegrass, folk and funk traditions. There are several camping areas on the festival grounds. If you’re traveling with your small children and would like a little time to yourselves to get your groove on, you can hire one of the “Rockin’ Nannies” to look after the tots. Summers in the Sierras can get pretty hot but an adjacent pool provides a shady spot for a quick dip. If you’re looking for less rustic digs, there are several hotels and motels in the area.
