101 Things To Do® In Mendocino County.
WHO MAY ENTER:
Anyone 18 or older may enter the contest; under 18 eligible with written permission of a parent or guardian. Employees of Sponsor and their immediate families are not eligible.
HOW TO ENTER:
No entry fee is required. Simply email us your photograph along with the credit line (photo by: your name) and where in Mendocino County the picture was taken. If submitting more than one image, specific location information must be provided for each shot. Each photograph submitted must show identifiable features of Mendocino County — a shot of a sunset over the ocean, for example, no matter how beautiful, cannot qualify because waves in the ocean off the Mendocino coast look remarkably similar to waves off the coast elsewhere. Email to firstname.lastname@example.org, subject line PHOTO CONTEST. Please do not include questions or comments that require a reply, because staff cannot respond due to volume of submissions.
Photographs must be taken in Mendocino County and should be in natural color, with only minimal color correcting and shadow/contrast adjustment, if any. Files should be a minimum of 1000 X 1500 pixels; prints at least 5 in. x 7 in. No close-ups or posed people shots, please. Photos showing identifiable people require a signed model release. By submitting a photograph, entrants warrant that it is their original work, that they own all intellectual property rights in it, and that they have read, understand and agree to the rules.
Submissions must be received by March 15, 2017. At its sole discretion, Sponsor may elect to extend that deadline without notice if the printing schedule for its next issue permits. Submissions received after contest’s final deadline will be automatically entered in the following contest if there is one.
Entries will be judged by the staff of 101 Things To Do® In Mendocino County. Photographs will be evaluated on the basis of quality and relevance. Decisions by the judges are final and binding.
By entering the contest all entrants grant Sponsor unrestricted, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, edit, promote, republish and otherwise use their credited submissions at any time(s) in the future in any and all media. License is non-exclusive, meaning that entrants retain the right to use and sell work they’ve submitted.
Prize winner will be notified by email, and must acknowledge receipt of prize notification within two weeks, or an alternate winner will be chosen. Winning photograph will be published with photo credit in the 2017 issue of 101 Things To Do In Mendocino County®. Winner will also receive $101.
