Thrills, spills and excitement await at Humboldt County’s rodeos, where cowboys and cowgirls gather for an exhibition of horsemanship, traditional ranch skills, and tremendous courage. The Redwood Acres Fair and Rodeo in Eureka is an annual event with live music and entertainment, carnival, livestock and art exhibits and more, in addition to an exceptional rodeo. For more information call (707) 445-3037.

Fortuna Redwood Rodeo is a week-long family festival, with all the classic fixin’s. Taste local flavor at the citywide chili cookoff, or put on your running shoes for the fun run. There are children’s games, costume contests and cook-offs, carnival and street games, firemen’s games and a pancake breakfast. Join the festivities at the Main Street parade, or put on your dancing shoes for the Cowboy Mixer barbeque and dance. Willits Frontier Days is a week-long 4th of July celebration and hosts California’s oldest continuous rodeo. Enjoy entertainment and events all week, including CCPRA rodeos, junior rodeo, horse show, parade, barbeque, truck pull, street dances, gunfighter shows, and even a water fight for local volunteer firefighters. The Orick Rodeo is a family-oriented event with fun for everyone. Introduce the kids to rodeo sports with sheep, calf and steer-riding, or watch the professional rodeo events including bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and saddle bronc riding.
