A Roadhouse in the Redwoods
Phillipsville’s Riverwood Inn is open year-round, with a winter fire to greet travelers in the not-so-off season. It offers snug rooms, a full bar complete with vintage red velvet wallpaper, fresh authentic Mexican food and some of the best live music north of San Francisco.
Riverwood Inn is the last remaining roadhouse among scores that populated old Hwy 101. Roadhouses are small, old inns, usually with a dance hall, a tavern with extremely cold beer and some form of fresh, pub-style food, and usually found on an old highway or rural route.
Within the historic Riverwood Inn is El Rio Mexican Restaurant offering wonderful Mexican fare such as Enchiladas, Super Nachos, many different Tacos, Huevos Rancheros, Beef, Shrimp or Fish Fajitas, Chile Verde, Chile Colorado, Carne Asada and Vegetarian Spinach Enchiladas, just to name a few items. The flour tortillas and salsas are made fresh and from scratch. All the food is prepared to order.
